Therapy for Children and Young People

We also offer psychological therapy for children who are struggling with emotions, relationships, or adjustment. Our therapy is tailored to the child’s developmental stage, personality, and interests, using talking, play, drawing, metaphor and stories depending on what helps them engage. For younger children, this often involves creative and play-based approaches. With adolescents, therapy may look more like traditional one-to-one conversations focused on managing emotions, self- understanding, and problem solving. We work closely with parents and carers throughout the process, and may include parent sessions to support behaviour, family dynamics, or emotional communication at home. Why choose MindPath?

MindPath is led by experienced clinical psychologists who combine the highest standards of psychological care with a warm, personalised approach. We offer a discreet, private service where your wellbeing is our priority. Whether you are an individual, a parent, or a business leader, we provide tailored support rooted in evidence-based practice, deep clinical insight, and genuine compassion. Our work is never one-size-fits-all — it is thoughtful, individualised, and grounded in real understanding of human behaviour.

What makes MindPath different from other private psychology services?

At MindPath, you will always work with qualified clinical psychologists with doctoral-level training. We combine scientific rigour with emotional intelligence, delivering psychological support that is as precise as it is human. We also specialise in applying psychology across different contexts, including one-to-one therapy, family work, neurodevelopmental assessment, and organisational consultancy, while maintaining the same high standard of care across all services.

What is the difference between MindPath Business and MindPath Individual?

MindPath Individual offers one-to-one psychological therapy and support for adults navigating emotional, relational or mental health challenges. MindPath Business works with professionals, teams and organisations to support leadership development, team dynamics, workplace wellbeing and psychological culture. While both are grounded in the same psychological expertise, MindPath Individual focuses on personal growth and emotional healing, whereas MindPath Business supports professional development, resilience, and human dynamics in the workplace in a concierge styled service.

How are clinical psychologists different from counsellors or other therapists?

Clinical psychologists are trained to doctoral level and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). This means they have extensive training in multiple models of therapy, psychological assessment, diagnosis, and research. Clinical psychologists are uniquely equipped to work with complex or long-standing difficulties, integrate multiple approaches, and provide therapy that is both evidence-based and highly individualised. Counsellors and other therapists may have excellent training too, but often in one or two specific modalities and without the broader clinical training that clinical psychologists receive.

Do I need a referral to access your services?

No. You are welcome to contact us directly. Whether you are an individual seeking therapy, a parent looking for assessment, or an organisation interested in consultation, you do not need a referral from a GP or health professional. We will guide you through the process and help you decide what type of support is right for you or your family.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. We take confidentiality very seriously. Everything you share with us is treated with the utmost respect and privacy. The only exceptions are in rare circumstances where there may be a risk of harm, in line with professional safeguarding responsibilities. We will always explain our confidentiality policy clearly at the outset and answer any questions you may have.

What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session is a space to get to know each other, explore what has brought you here, and begin to understand what support might be most helpful. We will ask some gentle questions about your current difficulties and background, but there is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with. The pace is always guided by you.

How long does therapy or assessment take?

This depends on your goals and the nature of what you’re seeking help with. Some people benefit from short-term focused work, while others prefer a longer process of deeper exploration and change. We will discuss this with you early on and review progress together.

Is MindPath suitable for high-performing or executive clients?

Yes. Many of our clients are professionals, leaders, and high-achieving individuals who value discretion, insight, and excellence in care. We understand the unique pressures of high- performance environments and offer psychologically informed support that addresses both wellbeing and performance. MindPath Business also provides executive coaching and leadership development rooted in clinical psychology, ideal for individuals navigating stress, burnout, or relational complexity in the workplace.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. We offer remote therapy and consultations via secure, confidential video platforms. This is often a convenient option for clients with busy schedules, mobility challenges, or those based outside our local area. Online sessions are delivered with the same care, attention and professionalism as in-person work, and we will always discuss your preferences to ensure the format feels right for you or your child.
